Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2026
1. Introduction
Gophy ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our native macOS application and related services.
2. Local-First Processing
Gophy processes all data locally on your Mac using on-device AI models. No audio or meeting data is sent to external servers unless you explicitly configure a cloud AI provider. Transcription, suggestions, and document analysis all happen entirely on your device.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 App Settings
Your application preferences and configuration are stored locally on your device. We do not transmit or store your settings on any remote server.
3.2 Google Calendar Integration
If you choose to connect Google Calendar, we store OAuth tokens and calendar sync tokens locally on your device to fetch upcoming meeting details. We access only calendar event metadata (title, time, attendees) needed for meeting preparation. You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from the app settings.
3.3 Cloud AI Providers
If you configure a cloud AI provider (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic), data you choose to send to those services is governed by their respective privacy policies. Gophy stores your API keys locally and never transmits them to our servers.
3.4 Crash Reports
With your consent, we may collect anonymized crash reports to improve app stability. These reports do not contain meeting content, audio data, or personal information.
4. Audio Data
During active meetings, audio is captured and processed entirely on your device using local AI models. Audio is never sent to our servers and is never stored persistently. It is processed transiently in memory and discarded immediately after generating transcriptions and suggestions.
5. Data Security
Because Gophy operates locally on your device, your data benefits from your Mac's built-in security features including FileVault encryption, Gatekeeper, and the App Sandbox. API keys and OAuth tokens are stored securely in the macOS Keychain.
6. Third-Party Services
Gophy may interact with the following third-party services only when you explicitly configure them:
- Google Calendar - Calendar sync for meeting preparation (OAuth)
- Cloud AI Providers - Optional cloud-based AI processing (your API keys, your choice)
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access all your data directly on your device
- Delete all app data by removing the application
- Disconnect any third-party integrations at any time
- Opt out of crash reporting
